Checking in from Europe!

Ascona Jazz Festival was wonderful….what a beautiful spot, right on Lake Maggiore with the Swiss Alps all around. Got to see and play with lots of my New Orleans musicians pals-Kermit Ruffins and band, New Orleans Swamp Donkeys…made new friends-Davina and The Vagabonds…..great band out of MN….will see them at Russian River Jazz & Blues Fest in Sept.

Now just starting UmbriaJazz….what an incredible festival in the spectacular midievel hill town of Perugia, Italy….wow….great music for another 10 days….some of the headliners include-Dr. John, Sharon Jones and Dap King Revue, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, The Roots, Galactica, and many more.

I play solo in the Bottega Del Vino (House of Wine!) an intimate club that will transform into my own Mitch Woods’ Club 88 each night as I invite lots of musician friends to come and jam with me….
